Joel Justus is new basketball coach at Davidson Day

Joel Justus is the new dean of students and boys basketball coach at Davidson Day. He replaces Ron Johnson who resigned last month. Davidson Day reached the N.C. Independent 2A state championship team last season.

Justus comes from Woodberry Forest (VA), a boarding school he led to a conference championship in 2010. Prior to Woodberry, Justus was an assistant coach at Elon for four years.

Shows what's important to this school when the Dean of Students is the basketball coach.

I have known this young man for many years and he is more than qualified to be Dean of Students in addition to basketball coach. Congratulations Joel and good luck.

Joel is an outstanding role model for the students of DD. He is a school man in the best sense of the words. DD got themselves an fantastic man to work with the students and coach basketball. Believe me, he is much more than a basketball coach.
