Butler's Kris Frost commits to Auburn; M. Creek's Williams enrolls at UNC

Butler High linebacker Kris Frost committed to Auburn Saturday during the US Army All American football game in San Antonio.

Rated the No. 39 player in the nation overall by rivals.com, Frost chose Auburn over Michigan and LSU.

Mallard Creek quarterback Marquise Williams honored his commitment to North Carolina and has enrolled this weekend, he told the Observer via text message Saturday night.

Williams, the Observer's offensive player of the year, led Mallard Creek to a 13-1 record and a N.C. 4AA quarterfinal appearance this season.

It's nice to see Auburn getting some help on defense; it's also cool to have a Charlottean coming to the Plains. WAR EAGLE!

Its a shame Marquise will never play in a bowl game...

Marquise Congrats! The world is yours if you do the right thing while at UNC. Make sure that you have an adviser that has your education and development as number one priority. UNC, was a bad, choice, because there is still somethings that will come out. Nonetheless, you will do well, just keep God first and everything else will fall in place. As for UNC admins, I know things are tough , but stop being greedy and concentrate on coaching.

It is unbelievable that you two anonymous posts cannot congratulate a player for enrolling into college without taking a pot shot at Carolina. I will presume that whatever university you are a fan of must be lily white and if the NCAA visited your campus would never overturn some stones. The only thing I can think is that you must be SEC football fans where we all know nothing illegal EVER happens. Please give it a rest.

It's funny how Carolina fans like the one @ 11:45 want us and everyone else to sweep their violations under the rug and act as if nothing happened, but if the shoe were on the other foot, they would be leading the charge of throwing a school under the bus after they were found guilty of infractions. Matter of fact, the school wouldn't even have to be found guilty, and they would still rub it in. So for all you Carolina fans that want the rest of us to act as if it never happened, then you can forget about it. The rest of us are reveling in the fact that the "Carolina Way" turned out to be dirty and underhanded, and you got caught. Suck it up and deal with it TarHole fans.

STOP THE FOOLISHNESS!!!! Just congratulate this young man. No matter what your opinions are about his choice or the school it's not your business. This is not the place to throw shots. This article was written to make the announcements. It's just absolutely ridiculous! Let this young man enjoy college life and move on.
Marquis, I don't know you but I wish you all the best in YOUR decision to enroll in college and pursue your dreams of football!
FYI..I do not know Marquis and am not a fan of UNC; HOWEVER, neither of those points matter. All that matters here is that I congratulate him on making a decision. Geez! When does it ever end??

So I guess some church near Butler will be getting some renovations soon....

The jealousy toward UNC will never end.....

Congratulations Marquis! You made a great choice.Pay no attention to the anonymous wolfpunks who posted earlier. UNC is a superior academic institution. Moo U there is Raleigh is not. We are looking forward to watching you run all over their sorry rear ends. UNC owns the all time records over them in all sports and their blind luck in their recent little streak is OVER. They are little more than an annoyance. They have a soiled reputation and want desperately for UNC to be drug down to their level but that is only a pipedream for them. Anyone who is interested in the facts knows that the issues at UNC amount to a little of nothing and there are no serious sanctions forthcoming from the NCAA. The guilty players and coaches have been punished and Carolina handled their investigation with an outstanding level of integrity. The Carolina Way is alive and well and has been in full display in the upright and honest handling of the whole situation. Whatever hit our reputation took initially has been more than made up for with the way Coach Davis and our administration handled it. You will play in bowl games every year at UNC and compete for ACC and National championships, unlike them.

You're right. I'm jealous my football program is not cheating and getting ready to be on NCAA probation. So much to be jealous of there!!

If were a fan of another local university I'd be embarrassed that my football program is being dominated on the recruiting trail by another where NCAA sanctions/probabtion are inevtiable as described above. Really seems to say a lot about what the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and its football program have to offer if you ask me.

I just wonder how he was able to enroll at UNC before they have even accepted anyone else. I know he's an athlete but it just doesn't seem fair

Anonymous said...

Anon at 7:52 can't even spell TRAILER right. Way to go...

So - all you people who "know" Marquise and said he was never going to end up at Carolina - what now?

Anonymous said...

I don't think this Auburn thing is going to work out for Frost. I made a comment a few weeks ago and the Butler faithful wanted to string me up because I was "speaking without knowing the facts". So I am out on a limb again...Frost ain't going to play for Auburn!

The basement dwellers taking pot shots at Carolina probably never have or never will darken the doors of any university much less one as prestigious academically as Carolina. The football violations at Carolina are very minor and they will just get a slap on the wrist since they have never had a violation before. If they had been a repeat offender such as NC State (see Norm Sloan, Jim Valvano, David Thompson, etc.) then they would get a stiffer penalty. Williams will get 3 bowl games and then go pro.

Anonymous at 2:07 pm has his players AND his churches confused.

The LeMay brothers are the sons of the pastor and his church is nowhere near Butler HS. The LeMay brothers have been allowed, by a corrupt CMS AD, to use their uncle's address as their residence.
Don't ask for this treatment for your child unless Mike Newsome has contacted you to have your kid play at Butler.

Young Williams made an excellent choice. True to his word, he remained a Tar Heel despite all the asinine rumors about Va Tech and Miami chasing him. To all the detractors, you're just jealous and nervous because you know he will dominate your teams for the next 3-4 years.

NC State, you guys leave the most vile and ridiculous comments on anything about UNC. Guess what? There will be NO sanctions or bans, despite your desperate pleas for the "death penalty". There is no culture of "cheating" at UNC, no players have been paid to sign with or play for UNC. 3 players took jewelry, then lied about it. Several others made trips, etc and could not produce receipts. The individual players were punished and dealt with.
The university remains as one of the top public universities in the country. There was no attempted cover up, nor was there lying to the NCAA on UNC's part. Rather, there was extensive cooperation and upgrading of the compliance department. I absolutely can't wait to hear the literal HOWLING when the university is cleared and we continue to improve the program athletically and academically.

All you guys who did not get Mr. Williams' services make me laugh out loud. More to come out? Unless you are Paul Dee, Holden, Dickie, or Butch...you know nothing. But nice try. Always comical to see who the "have nots" complain about the "haves"...versus becoming the haves. Easy to spot State fans...you make verbose statements and accusations with no facts to support them. You merely throw comments at the wall and hope something sticks. I do feel sorry for you. But not nearly as sorry as I will feel when RW moves on. Then the real State will show through. Enjoy your top......100 recruiting class for the next couple of years.

Actually, the Lemays just list their uncle as the guardian. They sleep in Mint Hill most days illegally. Hilarious that a tv station did a story on the players leaving for the state title game. Every film crew filmed in Mint Hill to show them. Mint Hill is now in Indy's district. I guess CMS has changed its priorities. It spied on Indy like they were the Russians but let Butler and the apartment dwellers cheat. Way to go Newsome.

Frost committed to Auburn...

Auburn decomitted to him.
Word out that 5 star recruit decomitted from Alabama. Commited to Auburn. Took Frost spot......Oh the ugly recruiting game...

Anonymous said...

I have heard that Auburn may not have room for him. But things may change and he may change over to Michigan if they can get Les Miles. Regardless, the kid has worked his tail off to get a scholarship and that's what is going to happen in the end. Congrats!

It is amazing how everyone talk about a kid getting education first, but since he an athlete, he made a bad choice. If they go on Probabation he still gets education. If a student from MC chose UNC, we would not be downing her/him.

Anonymous said...

If a kid gets an Morehead Scholarship, we would not be on here stating it was a bad choice because they getting ready for probabation. Brandon Tate, Hakeem Nicks and few others made it without Bowl Games. It is who you are, not who you play for.

UNC-CHEAT.....
a coach that hires a tudor for his son that had been fired by UNC months earlier for improper conduct,a coach thta hires an assistant that is known nationally as BLACK SANTA and procedes to make him his associate head coach...a coach who allows said assitant to funnel money from pro agents to players that go on trips all over the country and he doesnt know anything right????, a coach that has as many as 13 players suspended for the season opener...unprecedented in NCAA Division 1 football for academic cheating or taking improper benefits, an administration that said Blake resigned so he would'nt be a distraction to the program then turned around and said they fired him but gave him a $75,000.00 buyout ( imean hushmoney) an administration that had to be sued by local media to release FOI documents , a coaching staff that has long been known to pay recruits for attending UNC JUST TO NAME A FEW of the items that the NCAA has on your "prestigous university"hahahaahhaha
and you think you will only get a slap on the wrist????hahahahaha
when you look in the dictionary for LACK OF INSTITUTIONAL CONTROL you are going to find a picture of Dickie and Butchie....
M Williams parents must be dumb as a box of rocks, I would never allow my child to play for such a sleazy coach as Butch Davis and that UNC diploma is becoming more and more worthless by the day....all these sacrifices you have made tarholes for a coach that has a sub 500 record in conference , is 1-2 in bowl games and you are owned by your instate rival with their top 100 recruiting classes ....good investment of you money tarholes

Auburn confirmed its committment to Frost this week. I wouldn't object if the put him at WR since we're losing Darvin Adams. But him being an LB is a great boost to the young defense.

Frost is Auburn's 18th recruit that also includes a 4-star guy we stole from Georgia. It's a great time to be a WAR EAGLE!!!!!
