Hey, NCHSAA want to save money? Eliminate this East, Mid-East, Mid-West and West garbage and just get rid of the teams that don't have a winning record! Go back to just four divisions 1-4A and just do east and West. My junior year we went 7-3 and had the best record in the state to not have made the playoffs. Would much rather be in that position then a horrible team getting trotted out one more time to get thumped just so more kids can get a trophy. Also, these seedings and pairings are laughable.

I totally agree. And somebody please tell me how Greensboro Page got to be the #1 overall seed. Mallard Creek has dominated every single opponent this season. Go Mavericks!!!!

mistakes galore on the team records......Piedmont is 5-5.....no way should be 16th in the 2AA.

Anonymous #1: The NCHSAA wants to make money. That's why playoffs are subdidvided to begin with. The pod system was a concession to the schools complaining about the cost to travel to distant playoff games.

Anonymous #2: Page won all of their games, just like Mallard Creek, so they flip a coin for the 1 and 2 seeds. Page won. There were three 10-0 teams in the 3AA West, so they had to flip a coin for the first 3 seeds.

Anonymous #4: Piedmont is 4-6. They lost to Porter Ridge, Cox Mill, Monore, Forest Hills, Union Acadey and Cuthbertson.

Wow I heard Scotland County pleaded to go little 4a .They were afraid to play Butler or Mallard Creek .

half of the 1A teams are 2-7 that is crazy!

Also kinda strange how vance at 4-6 gets seeded above Myers Park at 7-4. Although Myers Park got a much better draw with Olympic then South Caldwell if they win.

Should be interesting...

Re: Scotland County: Or it could have been that they were the 18 biggest 4A school in attendance in the playoffs thus sending them to 4A.

Re: Vance/Myers Park: Vance finished 3rd in their conference and got seeded with all of the other 3rd place teams. Myers Park finished 4th in their conference and got seeded with the other at large teams.

No love for the Northwestern Conference: four of the teams play EACH OTHER in the first round. I know it wasn't the best year, but they deserve better. South Caldwell vs. Mallard Creek in the qtrs. will be interesting.
Also, I can't wait for the South Point fans to start pounding this or another comments page. Apparently by losing, Crest got a better draw.

6:19......Piedmont is 5-6 and you get to throw out 1 NonCon Game. They beat Hickory RIDGE, W Stanly, N Stanly, Central Academy and JM Robinson.

Though MC's ranking is number 2. it does appear they have the easier row to how. Greensboro Page has to go through Butler, Independence, or Richmond Sr.

Go MC!!

Another thing you have to remember is that it matters WHEN the losses happened. Your conference standing as well as your record has some bearing on where the seeding lies. Still, some of these pairings make the NCAA tournament seem like a refined science.

9:59...It's not just a non-conference loss anymore. You have to throw out the endownment game - win or lose. Piedmont won their endownment game. So, their record for playoff seeding purposes is 4-6.

Coaches, staff, fans and team at Scotland are all disappointed that we will not be able to show you big city boys how football is played in the sandhills. Mallard Creek wants no part of Scotland County. BTW, Hoke County's ADM is 1803 and Scotland's is 1799. YOU get the NCHSAA to switch Hoke and Scotland's ADM and we will all celebrate. We beat Hoke 49-0. In fact we beat 6 teams that all went to the 4AA bracket. Current system of taking 64 teams sucks. It prevents Mallard Creek from playing the best team in the state, Scotland County.

South Meck and Mallard Creek.

So South gets the distinuished honors in 2011 of eliminating Mallard Creek in 1st round action again that has beome an annual tradition like the Mallard Creek BBQ event last week.

Both inviting crowded tasty and fullfilling with admission the same price.

GO SOUTH

What a joke these pairing continue to be...bottom line, you should NOT make the playoffs with a losing record! Period. And who splits these things up? The 4AA Midwest has 6 teams with 8+ wins and 0 losing records, the West has 3 with 8+ and 3 losing records . Did a Mallard Creek alum schedule the West? What a cake-walk.
