Third year Hough High, which already has girls swimming and girls soccer state champions, is getting close to having a girls volleyball champion, too.
Saturday, coach Sandi Skidmore’s Huskies beat Skyland Roberson 25-17, 25-18 and 25-17 to advance to next week’s N.C. 4A Western Regional championship game. The Huskies (30-1) will play either Ardrey Kell (28-1) or Providence (19-6).
Hough has beat four playoff teams all by the same 3-0 score, including two No. 1 seeds in the last two rounds.
Saturday, Julia Brown led the team with 12 kills. Morgan Fisher had 15 assists.
Hough would host Providence in the semis, and would play at Ardrey Kell.
