Former Butler girls coach Stephanie Butler now at Rock Hill South Pointe

Former Butler girls coach Stephanie Butler is now coaching at Rock Hill’s South Pointe High. Butler replaced Brett Childers, who took the head girls job at Fort Mill. Butler has 17 years of coaching experience in high school and has also coached in college.

Before coming to South Pointe, Butler was the assistant women’s basketball coach at Southern Illinois University.

From 2006-10, she led Butler to several national rankings and a 121-26 record. The Bulldogs won the 2010 4A state title. Butler was named Southwestern 4A coach of the year three times, won five conference tournament championships and was the 2010 Observer coach of the year.

All that success at Butler that Langston recounted and he mysteriously failed to mention that she was removed from her job there because she was a cheat. Come on LW....if you want to be a reporter, then report the facts. You always had a soft spot for Stephanie though.

LOL @ R.T. Gardner

Actually you have the facts incorrect sir. The parents of a student interested in transferring to Butler contacted her, she directed them to CMS. They could never prove she initiated or participated in recruiting the student. The parents of the student (who was attending South Meck at the time) corroborated Butler's story, yet she was still harshly removed. All's well that ends well though.
