Garinger moves Friday's home prep football game to Porter Ridge

Garinger has moved its home football game Friday to Porter Ridge, Garinger athletics director Tony Huggins told the Observer.

Huggins said the game was moved due to construction on campus. Garinger (0-6) has played only one home game this season and is scheduled to open a new stadium next fall. Garinger hosted rival Harding on Aug. 30.

With the Porter Ridge home game now moving, Garinger will play three of 11 games at home. The Wildcats will play East Meck at home Oct. 25 and Myers Park Nov. 1.

Also with Friday’s move to Union County, the game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ home games kick off at 7 p.m.

Hey anonymous

Where is this money? Oh it's in our state of the art weight room nope don't have that, oh wait it's our field house no wait don't have that either, maybe the lights on our baseball field nope struck out again don't have those either!!! I'm so tired of hearing Porter Ridge buys everything. If that were the case we would have bought officials at Sun Valley and Mt Tabor and play every game at home!! Stick to facts!!

Thanks Darren

It seems the first comment deals with the Indy game which was a travesty. Indy had several tds called back while piling up penalties next to none for p.r. The last two plays of the game were interference penalties though neither pass was remotely catchable. Someone tell me how you can run 12 plays in 58 seconds with no timeouts? Im not saying p.r. paid anyone but some of these refs look to be 90 and should be put out to pasture

Took my son to the Indy/PR game. Indy's RT held virtually every play outside or that was a pass. They were fortunate to get away with as few holding calls as they did. I'll admit they were costly flags, especially the TD's that were called back, but the only ones that were called were the blatant ones in my opinion. Secondly, PR has one offensive player that is a better than average HS player. The fact that Indy gave up that many points to PR shows me they aren't contenders anyway. Thirdly, the holding wouldn't have been an issue if they hadn't gone away from running inside and the quick hitters over the middle, which PR had no answer for.

So you spent money on refs so you don't have any money left for facility upgrades, I understand your logic there

Porter Ridge has apparently beaten your team along the way!! Indy did not win because they turned the ball over! Several of those "12" plays were quick outs to sidelines a couple of spikes to stop the clock. When you hold or block in the back big plays get called back . Discipline or lack there off which starts at the top cost teams. Indy has lost 3 times I guess it was pay off by west meck and hough as well? I guess we paid your QB to fumble!! It's high school sports they are kids and that's the way it goes! You should really move on to the next game.

As far as money spent Indy spent quite a bit in the last decade. Can't be cheap renting those empty houses

Butler will destroy the little pirates and dismantle indy for good, GO DAWGS

The PR and Indy game, the ref is related to one of the PR player. This is why the ref call a bad game. There was something real suspicious about this game. This game should be played over again at memorial stadium.

So this is what happens when you beat a high profile team from Meck county? They cry and complain and blame everyone else for their teams loss. Looks really sad Indy. Face it you got beat by a team that played smarter and didn't choke down the line. I agree holding could have been called all night on Indy as they hold and don't block. How about the late hit, holding/tackling by O line and taunting that were called and so obvious. Signs of an undeciplined team and that is what they resorted to on the last drive. Oh and by the way lets look at the facts: Garringer announced THEY were moving the game to PR because of construction concerns at their school. The last two plays were a touchdown catch and a two point run conversion NOT pass interference calls. I would say this about INDY and it was said by an INDY fan at the PR game. PR didn't have the beef on either of their lines but they had more heart and determination to win the game. INDY your not that good and oh by the way did you see Providence ( Who PR beat earlier in the season) beat West Meck another team that beat you. Sorry INDY PR is real competition in your league even though you thought they wouldn't be. Can't wait to play there next year and beat you on your turf.

Keep talking Butler fan, soon enough you will see that Porter Ridge is not intimidated or scared of mighty Butler!

553 were you really at the game? By my count Indy had 9 drives of more than 50 yards. 5 tds, 3 tds called back, fumble on last drive. Prs defense is almost as bad as Garinger and East's....Butler will easily hang 50 on Pr. Indy's defense better than Prs. Pr offense had one long drive before the penalty fest at the end....pick 6, kick return, bomb. Indy gave it away but I dare the pr coaches to post the pass interference plays on youtube. Neither ball catchable, game over.

You are right PR was given the game !! You guys threw a pick 6 , allowed 1 drive resulting in a touchdown, one pass for 75 yards and a score, and a 90 yard kick return for a score. All those plays bought and paid for I guess with booster money??Or maybe the 50/50 raffle is actually used for opposing team players to let those things happen. But all you complain about are 3 touchdowns called back, which is debatable (penalties hurt don't they) and 2 legit pi calls that did not happen until pr had moved the ball inside the Indy 30. Bottom line it's over you have lost 3 games only one of which was to pr, but I'm sure in your mind you're actually unbeaten if not for those meddling referees!!! Be careful butler may hang 50 on you guys...

As for east and garinger we will have to play them as well so we will see how that goes !
I'm done it's over have a good evening

I'm a Butler fan and we will hang 50 on PR and INDY, GO DAWGS!

Who cares ?

It is High School Football. Who cares

Butler fans be careful. PR played Mt Tabor better than you guys did and after multiple mistakes lost on a last second field goal.

Have the boys at Providence stopped crying yet?
