YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDIN ME!!!!! How in the world can you not include Porter Ridge in your rankings yet rank Sun Valley, who we beat and lost more players from last years team. PR finished third in your final 2010 ranking going undefeated all year (1 forfiet of a lopsided win because a JV player played too much) and lost a close game in the State semi-finals. Further, they are returning a Ton of starters including their QB, top receiver, RB and most of both lines. This is a shame not only for them, but the poor souls that are going to line up against them each week. Still scratching my head??????

Hibriten at 11 is a joke. I seen hibriten scrimmage and they are not that good. The scrimmage I saw they got dominated in.

I'm cancelling my subscription. I've been considering it for a while now, but not ranking Porter Ridge on here is the final straw.

1.) A team that hasnt lost a game in 2 years would be the obvious choice for #1....but ohhh the suspense!!

2.) #12 Burns... Burns High School is in Cleveland County and def. NOT a #12 football team. So im guessing it is meant to be Duncan-Byrnes from SC??

3.) Agreed with the Hibriten comment. They lost a LOT of talent from last years team. But i guess it'd be fair to say that these rankings are based on last years results?? Or maybe not since Indy is ranked??

4.) Is Richmond not covered by the Observer? please dont say they are and just didn't make the Sweet 16.

Hold on, Hibriten haters. One scrimmage does not a season make, nor does it give a full image of what a team is going to be. Yes, they are young. But the results that matter begin next week, and there is still a lot of work to put in.
Will they be the same team they were the past 3 years? I doubt it, but you will find few teams that put in as much work as they do.

Porter Ridge..... You're a relatively new school out in the middle of NOWHERE in Indian Trail.

They FORGOT about you. Oops!! LMAO! Too funny :-D

Bulter better watch out. All it will take is one player leaving his ho,e in MInt Hill but driving to Mattews to get a forfeit. Everyone knows the game being played.

Okay folks...lets just see what happens this year. All I can say is that all the teams that have to face the Porter Ridge Pirates...I'm here to be the first to say "I told you so" and they will finish it off by giving ya'll a big L in the lost column. Obviously the fella that predicts (or assumes the sweet 16) will also be eating his words...so the last laugh will be on us who are supporting as rooting for the Pirates.

They was supposed to be one of these for sports writers at the CO but nobody even made the top 16 so they left blank.

Berry should be on this list!!

Porter Ridge is in the middle of nowhere....and Sun Valley is in the middle of "somewhere"? Seriously, this is your rationale for them being left out?

I am shocked as well that Porter Ridge was not ranked. What are you thinking Chlt Observer?? Well, we will enjoy rubbing your Sweet 16 list right in your face!

being from rihmond county.... i find it funny how the media here avoids the mentioning of the Richmond Raiders....wow...it started with harold jhonson...guess some things never change....

Wait where's Porter Ridge?

man this thing is way off. whoever picked this is crazy.

Albemarle should be ranked higher. They have won two straight state tittles and are the favorite to win it again this year. I am not saying they could beat every team ranked higher then they are but they have dominated 1A football in NC the past 10 years. They have won have of the state tittles over the past 10 years. I would be willing to beat that they would beat most teams in the country that are the same size school as they are.

What about Freedom? Heard they killed Hibriton in their scrimmage and put up 40 some points in a half in their next scrimmage. We will see in a few weeks.

Ardrey Kell looked a whole heck of a a lot better than porter ridge in the scrimmage so i'm confused on the argument here.

Do you people not realize, this isnt a ranking of whos the best/whos the worst teams in the charlotte area. ALl the sweet 16 represents is how good of a chance the represented sweet 16 teams have at winning their respective class championships. It has NOTHING to do with who is better than who

Its so stupid to stop at only 16 teams.

Max Preps ranks not every single school in every state including NC but also in the the entire nation.

Almost 400 schools in NC and school ranked. Over 15,000 schools in America ranks every one to the max. Unreal. All computer generated. Very nice neat and colorful with easy printing available.

Check it out. Just enter your school name in the top right box. See what rank your school is nationally.
