Union County athletics director Doug Jones told the Observer Thursday that Marvin Ridge is now looking for a head football coach.
Scott Chadwick, the former coach, will not return next season.
Chadwick's move comes shortly after Blair Hardin resigned as coach at Porter Ridge this week. Jones said Union County now has four head football openings: Marvin Ridge, Sun Valley, Porter Ridge and Cuthbertson.
In five seasons, Chadwick coached Marvin Ridge to a 41-20 record. Last season, the Mavericks were 6-6, losing four of their final six games. Those losses were by an average of just more than five points.
