Mallard Creek WR Marquez North to announce college choice Feb. 6

Mallard Creek All-American receiver Marquez North will announce his college decision on national college signing day next month, his father told the Observer.

North, the top recruit in the Carolinas, will announce his choice during a Feb. 6 news conference at the school, when all of Mallard Creek’s football players will be signing their letters of intent.

North, 6-3 and 215 pounds, plans to visit Clemson this weekend, his father, Ramondo, said, and will visit North Carolina on Jan. 18.

Ramondo North said his son will choose from among Clemson, North Carolina and Tennessee. Ramondo North said the family ruled out Florida after a recent visit there.

The elder North said his son is fully recovered from shoulder surgery during October, which forced him to miss the playoffs. Ramondo North said Marquez was injured during a 7-on-7 scrimmage last summer.

“He played all season with it,” Ramondo North said, “but as the season went on, it got weaker and weaker. When we were on a visit to Tennessee, (the shoulder) popped out (of its socket) while he was asleep. I pulled him right there. I just thought it was best to not play anymore.”

Why would any recruit opt for UNC-CH with their upcoming additional NCAA sanctions?

Anonymous said...

What would those alleged sanctions be in response to?

You can't fix stupid or illiterate. NCSU fans are so worried about everyone else. Thank you for posting and giving me a wonderful laugh late at night!

Why would any recruit opt for NCSU with their inferior academics, degree on which I wouldn't wipe my ass and a fan base full of inbred hillbillies?

I wish the young man luck. As a Tar Heel fan I hope he comes to Chapel Hill. I don't like seeing our great young talent leave the state. It has to be fun to play in UNC's offensive scheme.

Based on recruiting rankings it appears that UNC outrecruited NCS even when we had the sanctions. Hilarious!

A player of North's caliber wouldn't list ncs in their top 3, 5, or 10 for that matter. Bunch of haters down in Raleigh I tell ya.

Duke has a better class. Lol.

Hey Providence High

When your football and basketball teams have a combined win total of 5 the AD isnt the only one that should have been fired.

Go back and average the win totals over the last 4 years and it is pathetic. Gone are the days of yearly Wachovia Cup championships.

Ask yourselves why?
