Myers Park beats rival South Meck 31-14 on the road Friday

Myers Park quarterback Ross Jeffries completed 9-of-15 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Mustangs to a 31-14 win over rival South Mecklenburg.

Myers Park (6-3, 3-2 Southwestern 4A) won its second straight game and has won three of its past four. Myers Park is in fourth place in the conference behind Butler (7-1, 5-0), Independence (8-1, 4-1) and Ardrey Kell (5-3, 4-1). Myers Park has a big home game with Independence Friday.

South Mecklenburg (3-6, 2-3) lost its second straight game.

Friday night, Kennedy Barkely (4 catches 80 yards) and Napoleon Belk (5-87) had big games for the Mustangs.
